Today has been a good day.  I need to first say, I am trying very hard not to focus on where Christian was 2 years ago.  My heart still breaks everyday and I think I know I will miss every part of her forever.  Today, I woke up before 5 a.m, I first prayed for a dear friend and then I prayed for safe travels for me and Bailey for the day.  I could hear the rain and I am a dreadful driver in the dark and even worse in the rain!  This morning, I was close to turning around and telling Chris that I could not do it...but once on the interstate, things improved for me, traffic seemed lighter than normal, the rain slowed down and the sky began to lighten.  We obviously made it to and from GPS successfully, twice today.  I was able to help a friend at work today with something she was working on and that made me feel good.  The new full time Emergency Department  Education Manager started today!  I am thrilled!  Jonathan Cowart is the best teacher I have ever had and our nurses are in for a treat and an awakening.  I have not worked much since May of 2011, so they really need a full time person and they are getting the best of the best!!!!  When I stopped at GPS to pick up Bailey, while waiting I glanced at facebook, I was tagged in a post about The Pine Needle...I did not read it correctly at first, then it sunk in...the founder of Veranda, Lisa Newsom, will be at The Pine Needle Thursday.  I could not wait to tell Bailey!  She was like me, it took a second for it to sink in and then she was so excited.  Veranda is my favorite magazine, but Bailey loves design and has a book by Lisa Newsom.  That was a highlight for me and Bailey today.  We stopped by our new house and the hardwood floors are being installed and they are really beautiful. As we were leaving the new house I received at text and the friend that I prayed for very early this morning and had on my mind all day, finally got some good news!!!! That was probably the BEST part of the day.  I prepared dinner and a yummy salsa for us to enjoy the rest of the week....my sweet Bailey may be deciding to be vegetarian...so vegetarian PICU friends and others...I will need some recipes!  I hope you all had a good Monday.  Oh, and this Friday, April 11th,  Chris and I will be attending the American Cancer Society’s Life Inspiration Awards.  Last year we were honored and received an award.  While sitting there, all I could think about was others to nominate, the first person that popped in my head was one of Christian’s wonderful, amazing nurses in PICU.  I nominated her this year and she will be honored this Friday.  A dear friend that lost her son at the end of 2013 will also be honored.  So, this is going to be a good week!!!!  - Robyn Bryant
