Last week was extremely emotional. I started the week delivering the banner that Hamilton Medical Center signed for Childhood Cancer Awareness to the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic at T.C. Thompson. I always enjoy seeing some of the staff, doctors and nurses. I then went to Children’s 300 to see a patient that was expecting me. I had a brief visit and then said hello to one of Christian’s favorite nurses and left. I was not there long at all. I certainly did not think I would be returning Wednesday to see another family. My heart is always a little broken since Christian’s death. But, there are so many new children being diagnosed with cancer and relapse and disease progression in this world of childhood cancer. It is overwhelming and it makes my heart truly hurt! Between last week and this week, there are 3 children that I know of personally, that should have celebrated birthdays, but all 3 died of a type of childhood cancer. I cannot get all the families and children battling right now off my mind. I relive so much of Christian’s journey daily and at this moment I truly feel the fear, helplessness and HOPE that these other parents are experiencing right now. It is important to remember there is always HOPE. I am thankful that The Christian Bryant Foundation continues to grow. I have been thinking of all the blessings we had during Christian’s Journey and some of the things that meant a lot to Christian and things that helped us all during the very long hospital stays. The need right now is great in the world of childhood cancer and our local need is tremendous. In preparation for Team CMB’s race weekend, I wrote down all that The Christian Bryant Foundation has accomplished. Then someone with more computer skill, put it in a good format. This will be available at our tent during race weekend, but I am also attaching a picture now. Thank you to everyone that prays for our families battling childhood cancer and thank you to everyone that has supported The Christian Bryant Foundation or one of the other local Childhood Cancer Foundations. Also, if you need ideas on how you can help a patient and family battling childhood cancer, I will be happy to give you some ideas. PRAY BOLDLY, FORGIVE OFTEN, LOVE DEEPLY AND FIND YOUR BLESSINGS! - Robyn Bryant
